Prof. Dr. Ioana Berindan-Neagoe

Prof. Dr. Ioana Berindan Neagoe is the coordinator of the Department of Functional Genomics and Experimental Pathology (Oncology Institute of Cluj-Napoca). She graduated the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca and had multiple trainings in France (IGR Villejuif, Orleans), Belgium (Ghent) and USA (San Francisco and Boston).

She was member in international (FP6 – Eurocan Plus) and national projects on genomics determinations by quantitative PCR and microarray.

Professor Berindan Neagoe contributed in elaboration of national and international scientific projects on: angiogenesis in borderline lesions, RNA interference studies in malignant tumor therapy, molecular profile evaluation in breast malignancies, pharmacogenomic and oncological screening functional genomics in malignant tumors, transcriptomic in the mechanism of tumor angiogenesis (ovary, breast, prostate, cervix); screening tests in cervical cancer (HPV) and breast, monitoring of conditionally administered therapy by oncogenetic tests for the Bcr-Abl gene in leukemias and for antacyclines in breast cancer. She is also the coordinator of the biobase activity for in vivo studies on laboratory animals for pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics and medical biotechnology (nanotechnology).
