“Reviews in Oncology” Contest Rules
The Journal of Medical and Radiation Oncology (JMRO) Editorial Team is pleased to announce a new Contest: “Reviews in Oncology” (named as Contest in the statements below).
1. Eligibility
The Contest is open to medical doctors and medical students irrespective of their country of origin, training or practice, who sign up at jmedradonc.org
People involved in organizing the Contest (editors, employees, affiliates, suppliers, partners, advertising or promotion agencies, and members of and their immediate family) are ineligible to participate in the Clinical Case Report Contest.
2. Sponsorship
The sponsor is Transdisciplinary Society of Personalized Oncology for Fighting Cancer (STOP Cancer Romania), (“Sponsor”), located at Str. Serg. Gheorghe Latea nr.12 Bl.C47 Et. P Ap 57, București, Sector 6, Romania. Sponsor will conduct the Contest substantially as described in these Official Rules.
3. Agreement to Rules
By entering this Contest, the Entrant (“You”) agrees to abide by the Sponsor’s Official Rules and decisions, which are fully and unconditionally binding in all respects. The Sponsor reserves the right to refuse, withdraw, or disqualify any entry at any time at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. By entering this Contest the You represents and warrants that You are eligible to participate based on eligibility requirements explained in the Official Rules. You also agree to accept the decisions of the Sponsor as final and binding as it relates to the content of this Clinical Case Report Contest.
4. Contest Entry Period
This submission period begins on 22 February 2023 at 0:00 (GMT+2) and ends on 1st of June 2023 at 23:59 (GMT+2) (“Entry Period”). To be eligible for the Contest, entries must be received within the specified Entry Period.
5. How to Enter
Eligible entrants can enter the Contest by signing up on the website www.jmedradonc.org and submitting a manuscript via the online form provided at jmedradonc.org – submit paper section.
Only manuscripts in English will be accepted. The review should be on an Oncology topic. There are no restrictions regarding a certain medical specialty of participants.

The manuscript will be evaluated by the members of the jury using the SANRA scale for the narrative reviews and PRISMA checklist for the systematic reviews. If a review does not meet the requirements of a systematic review, even if it is stated as such, it will be judged as a narrative review.
The manuscripts should be submitted by the first author. Each participant can submit a maximum of 3 manuscripts, but he/she can be co-author of other submitted manuscripts, without a number limitation.
Fraudulent methods of entry or circumvention of the rules may result in the Sponsor invalidating your entries and removing them from the Contest at the Sponsor’s sole discretion.
As a participant, your entry must fully meet all Contest requirements, as specified in the Official Rules, in order to be eligible to win a prize. Incomplete entries or those that do not adhere to the Official Rules or specifications will be disqualified at the Sponsor’s sole discretion.
6. Prizes
The Winners of the Contest (the “Winners”) will receive cash prizes.
1 prize of 300 euros for the best Systematic Review
3 prizes of 100 euros for the best Narrative Reviews
All manuscripts considered eligible for publication in the Journal of Medical and Radiation Oncology will enter the peer-review process.
By entering this contest, You agree to be included in this selection for publishing and continue with the peer-review process. There will be no fee charged on you associated with the publishing of your Manuscript.
The prizes are non-transferable. In case of multiple co-authors, the author submitting the entry will receive the prize and takes full responsibility for sharing it with the co-authors in case they exist and according to their previous agreement.
The legal taxes associated to the prizes will be paid by the Winners according the legal requirements of their country of residence.
The selected Winners grant permission for the Sponsor to use the Winner’s likeness, entry, and name for purposes of advertising without further compensation unless prohibited by law.
7. Selection and Notification of Winners
The Winners will be selected by a scientific committee assessing the quality of the manuscript under the supervision of the Sponsor. The evaluation will be done on the anonymized manuscripts. The committee will consist of JMRO editors, reviewers, and collaborators, matching their field of expertise with the topic of review.
The organizers will publish the results on the JMRO website and Social Media accounts and will notify the Winners by email, within five days following Winners’ selection.
The Sponsor is not responsible for nor shall have no liability for Winner’s failure to receive notices due to email security settings that may cause notifications to be marked as spam or junk email. Nor shall be Sponsor be liable for the Winners’ provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information.
If the any of the Winners 1) fails to claim the prize within 20 days from the time the award notification was sent or 2) is found ineligible, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner may be selected. Receipt of the prize offered in the Contest by the Winner is upon the condition of compliance with any and all state, and local laws and regulations. If the winner violates any of these official Rules, the winner (at the sponsor’s sole discretion) will be disqualified, and all Privileges as winner will be immediately terminated.
8. Rights Granted by You
The submitted manuscript should be original and not previously published in another Journal.
It should not violate anyone’s proprietary or intellectual property rights and it should comply with the ethical and the informed consent requirements. Any infringement upon the intellectual property rights of others will lead to the disqualification of the participant.
By submitting an entry (e.g manuscript including images, figures and tables.) into this Contest, You understand and agree that the Sponsor, any individual acting on the Sponsor’s behalf, and the licensees successors, and assigns of the Sponsor shall, where permitted by law, have the right to print, publish, broadcast, distribute and use in any media known now or hereafter developed, in perpetuity, worldwide, and without limitation, your submission, name, photo, portrait, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Contest, and your biographical information for promotional purposes, without any further notice, review, consent, compensation, or remuneration.
9. Terms & Conditions
In its sole discretion, the Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel, or terminate the Clinical Case Report Contest should non-authorized human intervention, a bug or virus, fraud, or other causes beyond the Sponsor’s control, impact or corrupt the security, fairness, proper conduct, or administration of the Clinical Case Report Article Contest.
Attempts by any entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Clinical Case Report Article Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. If any such attempt is made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
Your entry into this Contest constitutes Your agreement to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its subsidiaries, representatives, affiliates, partners, advertising and promotion agencies, successors, agents, assigns, directors, employees, and officers against and from any and all claims, liability, illness, injury, death, litigation, loss, or damages that may occur, directly or indirectly from participation in the Contest.
11. Disputes
This contest is governed by the laws of Romania and European Union. The Entrant agrees, as a condition of participating in this promotion, that if any disputes cannot be resolved between the Entrant and the Sponsor, and if causes of action arise out of or are connected with this Contest, they shall be individually resolved according to the current regulations.
12. Privacy Policy

13. Winners’ List
The Winners’ list will be made public on 20 May 2023 0:00 GMT+2 on JMRO website (homepage, news) and on JMRO Facebook page.

The Contest hosted by JMRO/Stop Cancer Romania is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or LinkedIn.
